Macworld 2008

The MWX (Macworld Expo) was this week and boy it was awesome, at least for the mac loyalist! Fist Steve Jobs talks about the financial stuff that he always starts off with, how apple is gaining the the market place and how awesome the products are. Then he talks about the smaller products itunes, the latest operating system in this cause its Leopard and how Microsoft is stealing their ideas. Then he starts off with the cool applications. This time he drops the bomb and announces a new laptop, the Macbook Air.

Its a pretty cool laptop whats so awesome about it is that fact that at its thickest its still only half an inch!!

Steve also announced a hardware component that attaches to the Time machine software that provides effortless backups! Its basically a NAS (Network Attached Storage) device and it is called Time Capsule. I kind of like the fact that its keeping with the who time thing.

There where a few other neat things that where announced but those where the things I found interesting. The Macbook Air seems to be a very interesting thing to watch in the coming months, when I get to the apple store I will really be looking at that maybe for a future purchase.

Saying Sorry

Taking Back Sunday

As was looking around at all the videos that I used to listen to in my collage days and Taking back Sunday came to mind along with Thursday, Garbage and a few others. Nostalgia finally kicked in.

Cute without the E

Great Romances of the 20th Century

Thursday

I've decided to add a new band and cd to the list. Thursday there a hardcore/emo type band I don't really know how to label them but I like them! Full Collapse is a great CD no matter how old i get I'll still rock out and scream along with them, especially with Cross out the Eyes.

My List

The lists that you see to the left are in proper order I didn't want to add numbers to them just in case i wanted to change something around. I just thought I make mention of it.

Just lookin for Shirley

Its Sunday night and I'm a little board and something during the day reminded me of Garbage so i thought i go on youtube and look for something with Shirley Manson in it, not so much a garbage video but maybe an interview and wow how i found a few gems.

Shirley on Craig Kilborne, it wasn't to bad Shirley was awesome and Craig didn't gush to much over her, though I don't blame him for doing so.

BONUS:: CES 2008

CES (Consumer Electronic Show) was this week and to my surprise G4 covered it very well. Through the 2hrs they went back and forth with people on the floor to cover some of the more obscure electronics while asking viewers their opinions on some of the hotter gadgets. I thought they did really well with this and I hope that they use this as a template for covering Macworld next week or Comic con this summer!

The highlight of the programing was when i saw on G4 Kristen Holt tried on the new rumble vest (its basically a vest with the rumble stuff inside, so if u get shot or punched you feel it). They tested it out on her and she started to convulse she jolt some much she feel over and pretended to be dead, I thought that was the funniest thing (because you can't fake that).

Great comedic timing well done Kristen!

(i breifly tried to look for the clip on youtube and even G4's site and can't find it once i do i'll post!)

Darth Vader and Yoda in Soul Calibur 4

We just got word that Darth Vader and Yoda just might show up in the next installment of the Soul Edge series, Soul caliber 4. There are few pictures goin around with some very nice imagery of Darth Vader and Yoda. I hope this is true but for the time being here are a few pics i was able to get off of the IGN's PS3 site and the IGN 360 site.

Also it seems that the two versions (PS3 & XBOX360), will have two different characters (which i think sucks). The PS3 will have Lord Vader while the 360 will have Yoda. Come on Namco! If this goes well will we see another weapon based fighting game featuring only the starwars characters? With graphics like these that might not be a bad thing.

American Gladiators Debut and Review

Ok, American Gladiators finally came on last night and i watched it even past my bed time (i have a job sorry!) and i must say it was like watching it back when i was but a boy. They got me screaming and clinching my chair like I'm on the toilet. I must say like the old show i found the new just as annoying in some respects. Lets take for instance the women's competition just as in the original i found that the competitors weren't as strong or determent to win as the men was. Although, i did find that all of the female gladiators where too hot to handle though the Gladiator named Crush was the best looking of them all.

Crush

Overall, I enjoyed the show and I look forward to watching it when it comes on tonight at 8pm, this will hold me over till Hereos comes back on or whenever the writers strike is over! Nice job NBC. I give the American Gladiators B+

Here is an added picture bonus of Siren

Artist of the Day 2

Todays Artist of the day is The Smashing Pumpkins.
They are by far my favorite band!

The Smashing Pumpkins are an American alternative rock band that formed in Chicago in 1988. While the group has gone through several lineup changes, The Smashing Pumpkins consisted of Billy Corgan (vocals/guitar), James Iha (guitar/vocals), D'arcy Wretzky (bass/vocals), and Jimmy Chamberlin (drums/percussion) for most of the band's recording career.

The Smashing Pumpkins broke into the musical mainstream with their second album, 1993's Siamese Dream. The group built their audience with extensive touring and their follow-up, 1995's double album Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness, debuted at number one on the Billboard charts. With approximately 18.3 million albums sold in the United States alone as of 2006, the Smashing Pumpkins were one of the most commercially successful and critically acclaimed bands of the 1990s. However, internal fighting, drug use, and diminishing sales hampered the band and led to a 2000 break-up. In April 2006, the band officially announced that they were reuniting and recording a new album. Returning members Billy Corgan and Jimmy Chamberlin were joined by new additions Jeff Schroeder (guitar/vocals), Ginger Reyes (bass/vocals), and Lisa Harriton (keyboard/vocals) in 2007 to tour in support of their new release, Zeitgeist.

Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness: 1995–1997 (greatest CD ever, Top 10 on Diante's CD list)

Corgan worked nonstop over the next year and wrote, according to statements in interviews, about fifty-six songs for the next album. The result was Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness, a double album featuring twenty-eight songs and lasting over two hours (the vinyl version of the album contained three records, two extra songs, and an alternate tracklisting). The songs were intended to hang together conceptually as a symbol of the cycle of life and death. Praised by Time as "the group's most ambitious and accomplished work yet", Mellon Collie debuted at number one on the Billboard charts in October 1995. Even more successful than Siamese Dream, it was certified nine times platinum in the United States and became the best-selling double album of the decade to date. It also garnered seven 1997 Grammy Award nominations, including Album of the Year. The band won only the Best Hard Rock Performance award, for the album's lead single "Bullet with Butterfly Wings". The album spawned five singles—"Bullet with Butterfly Wings", "1979", "Zero", "Tonight, Tonight", and "Thirty-Three"—of which the first three were certified gold and all but "Zero" entered the Top 40. Many of the remaining songs that did not make it onto Mellon Collie were released as B-sides to the singles, and were eventually compiled in The Aeroplane Flies High box set. As a testament to the band's popularity, Virgin Records originally intended to limit the set to 200,000 copies, but produced more after the original run sold out due to overwhelming demand.
