The Beast 2010 update

The case for my new computer came today, actually as I was driving to work I think I past the UPS truck that was carrying my case, ships passing in the night... Anyways, its here and its awesome! Its the Thermaltake Armor VH6000 case.

Here are the specs:
10 PCI slots design for quad-graphic card configuration. Adjustable PSU supporting bridge o Micro ATX, ATX, Extend-ATX supported Case Type: Full Tower Color: Black Material: Aluminum Front Door, Chassis: 1.0 mm SECC M/B Type: Micro ATX, ATX, Extend ATX Drive Bays: o External Bay: 7x 5.25", o Internal Bay: 7x 3.5" external 1 x3.5 (Convertible from one 5.25 drive bay) Expansion Slots: 10. Front I/O Panel: 2x USB 2.0; 1x IEEE 1394; 1x HD Audio; e-SATA connector x2.

I'll post some pics of the case when I open it or when the rest of the parts come. I also got the power supply Tuesday but I'm a little disappointed because It doesn't have as much watts as I would have like, initially I thought 550watts was enough but apparently I will need 700+ so I may have to get another psu sooner rather than later. :(

9-11

Well its the 8th anniversary of the sept. 11th attacks and the history channel has been showing a lot of documentaries about the event. When I get a chance I'll check them out and the present gave a speech in remembrance of those who died. I'm not very patriotic but I'm glade he's doing that as well as people taking time out to remember the event.

Scifi is now SyFy!

eh and LAME!

I'm finally able to voice my opinion about how lame the decision it was to change the scifi channels logo to what is now SyFy and I don't think I'm the only one who is annoyed by this change since we're all fans of the genre and the channel itself.

I really don't understand why they decided to change the channel, I read somewhere that they wanted to appeal to the "txt generation" frankly, I don't think "txters" would use this spelling and if they do why would a tv channel wanna go down this route? Ok I'm getting a little annoyed again, so here are a few blogs responses that seem to have agreed with me. Just for the record "I DON'T LIKE IT!" and Worse name change ever!!

Sad news to report

I thought the death of Billy Mayes was bad news enough, yesterday saw the death of my lacie NAS drive. I don't know what to do! All my files seems to have gone along with it (over 200 gigs worth). I'm currently looking into getting a replacement drive within the next week or so.

If your looking for any kind of NAS drive do yourselves a favor and don't buy Lacie their stuff is absolute crap! I'm currently looking at buffalo I'm hopping their drives are made with better stuff and while I'm a it maybe I'll look into a 100pk of blank dvds too?!

Here is a reviewer who shares my sentiment and gave words to my pain that I was at a lost for, taken from the cnet site

"Slow to spin up, noisy, unreliable over time"

by eceslax on January 12, 2009

Pros: The triple interface is great. I can select the best available interface for the computer I'm using. I also like that I can stand the drive on its narrow edge to save desk space.

Cons: Fortunately it has a three year warranty. The drive is failing after just over a year. One of the two disks inside will not spin up completely. LaCie tells me to erase the drive as a test. How do you format a drive that won't even spin up?
Summary: The drive goes to sleep after a relatively short period of time. Since the drive contains two disks, and the disks spin up consecutively, it takes about 10 seconds for the drive to ready itself when accessed after it has been sleeping. When Time Machine needs the drive once an hour, and you work with the computer all day, this delay gets irritating. The drive access is also VERY loud and clacky. About a month ago the drive spinup process got MUCH louder and rougher, and even after achieving full rotational speed the drive was quite noisy - moreso than usual. The tech tells me this is because of faulty data on the drive and that I have to erase the drive and report back to him, or else they can test the drive at my expense. Now I need to purchase another drive to hold my Time Machine data so I can do the test. You can bet I won't buy a LaCie. In fact, I'm on CNET.com tonight to look at other reviews so I can pick a different brand. I should have learned my lesson from all the LaCie Porsche drives I bought that were filling up landfills in less than a year's time. (Five or six of them - I forget.) I selected this particular drive initially because of the form factor, aluminum case, and triple interface (not in that order) but you know what? There are other triple-interface players in this market, LaCie. Buh-bye

Transformers 2 times

I just got home from seeing Transformers for the second time! Frankly, I don't see the difference between a regular screen and the Imax screen though I am less dizzy. I love the movie btw, again can't wait till the third movie!

Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen review

This was an awesome movie, I was fortunate enough to see an early screening of it at my local IMAX theater. Michael Bay and comp. did an excellent job and in many cases an even better job then the first movie in scale and scope of the overall movie.

The twin transformers will have you laughing throughout the entire movie. Megan Fox is still hot but at times I fell like I wanna wash her face (kinda oily). Devastator is a beast by the way and Bumblebee is gansta too!

I really can't wait another two or three years to see the final movie, I hope to see some powermaster or headmaster action in the final movie.

The only thing i wished the movie had more of was the transformation sound fx that the original cartoon had but that was the same issue I had with the first movie.

4 out of 5 stars!

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen

Just got these images in and what is of interest to me is the way sideswipe's robot form is designed, he has wheels for feet. One of my drawings of a robotic character also has wheel feet! I'm not mad or annoyed by this not one bit! In fact it shows that my robots designs are good enough to be in a summer blockbuster movie!

The other pictures are of Springer and Mudflap, Devastator and Ravage needless to say I can't wait till this movie hits June 26, 2009

PSP - 2001

I just picked up the Psp 2001 series, I must say that I love it! I don't Know why it took me so long to pick up the upgrade but I'm glad I finally did. I didn't buy the 3000 because of some complaints I've read online about the screen and I didn't like the silver color or the fact that I couldn't hack it and put all those emulators on it. I have a few friends that were able to put a number of different emulators on their systems and I wanted to do the same thing!

Another thing I think is amazing is the "remote play" function the psp has with the ps3 and I'm currently using that as I type this blog! Once both systems have been updated just grab a usb cable and plug the ps3 into the psp and snyc them together and you're off! Anyone who is familiar with emulators on pcs will be familiar with this, the psp after about 20secs shows what you xmb on you're ps3 has including wallpapers and any games that you may have downloaded. I also have a NAS drive connected and yep it picks that up too and plays all the content from the NAS drive on the psp through the ps3, well except for a few video files. However, the psp will play all mpeg-2 files and divx for some reasone it won't play .avi or mpeg4 files?!

The only thing I have an issue with is with the psp screen resolution when in remote play, why can't it have the same psp resolution while in this mode? Also why can't I play a ps3 game through remote play?

Even with those two small issues I absolutely love the psp! I suggest anyone who still has the first generation psp to upgrade post hast! Oh and don't bother with the psp-3000 if you already have the 2000 either get another one 2000 or wait till the psp2 or psp-4000 comes out!

Milla Jovovich interview

The late show with Conan O'Brian 1994

Parker Lewis Can't Lose

Here is another blast from the past a show by Fox called Parker Lewis Can't Lose. I still have many of these shows on tape when will Fox put these on DVD?

Pilot episode done way back in 1990.
Featuring Milla Jovovich

(part 1)

(part 2)

(part 3)

Many think of this show as either another clone of Saved by the bell, or Malcolm in the Middle but its more related to the movie Ferris Bueller's Day off & Clarisa Explains It All.

Advent Robotics Logos vol1

At long last here are the logos for volume 1 of the Advent Robotics series that I've been workin' on for the past 10 years!

Mayhem Machines

The Eniac Progression

The Univac Succession

Fusion Matrix

Apocalypse

Legacy

Maybe I should take some time out and explain why I said volume 1? Well, volume 1 is the main story line of the series volume 2 & 3 will contain expanded story lines featuring new characters. Volume 3 will expand on the already expanded world of advent as well begin a new chapter of the series and maybe start up a new game concept
that I doubt has ever been seen before? A MMORPGRTS!

The Antigravity Room

Here's a blast from the past the TV show was called The Antigravity Room and was a weekly Canadian television program of the early- to mid-1990's, spotlighting comic books and video games, and hosted by Nick Scoullar and Phil Guerrero. It was produced by YTV in Canada, and was carried in the United States on the Sci Fi channel. It featured interviews with international comic creators, coverage of comic events, reviews of video games and other pop culture popular during the time and guest hosts such as Ben Stiller and Kevin Smith.

Here are some videos of the show, you tube is aweseome!!
